Research

At the Social Cognitive Development Lab we are very interested in what knowledge and abilities infants come into the world understanding, what they need to learn, and how they learn it! We are also interested in development across the lifespan, and how different types of experiences (for example being exposed to multiple languages) impact learning and development across childhood.

We study the origins of infants' social knowledge, and how experience impacts learning and development across childhood.

We study inferences about how people will act and interact.
We study links between culture and early food choice & food avoidance.
We study how multilingual exposure impacts learning & development.
We study 3- to 11-year-olds at the Zoo & MOXI!
