Meet with our fourth-year PhD candidate - Chuyi Yang

September 22, 2025

Chuyi’s research explores how children understand friendship—what behaviors, traits, and cues they use to infer who is friends with whom, and how these ideas shape their view of others and the social world. He’s currently working on two projects: one on how children expect friends to give each other the benefit of the doubt, and another on how adults use probabilistic cues to infer friendships.

This year, Chuyi published his first first-author paper! - “Big thanks to Zoe, Ariana Kim, and the rest of the lab for their support on this paper and project.”
