Rodney Tompkins presents poster at Society for Research in Child Development conference
Rodney presented a poster titled "Children consider social relationships when evaluating moral behaviors" at the biennial meeting of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD).
"In this work with Dr. Liberman, we replicate and extend past research finding that people's moral evaluations of behaviors consider social relationships. That is, we found that children and adults judge that it is worse for someone to (i) fail to help and (ii) lie to a friend (compared to a stranger). But, children's and adults' evaluations were stronger for failing to help scenarios than lying scenarios, suggesting people's moral evaluations indeed hinge on social relationships as well as different forms of interpersonal harm."
Cheers, Rodney!
