Liz Quinn-Jensen presents poster at Society for Research in Child Development conference
Liz presented a poster titled "White adult and children's perceptions of Black-White biracial people's fluid identity claims" at the biennial meeting of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD).
"These studies are currently examining how White adults and children react to biracial people's fluid identity claims. Results so far demonstrate that both adults and children judge a biracial person more positively when they maintain their biracial identity compared to when they switch to a monoracial identity in a zero-sum context. Further, how people contextualize what it means to be biracial may impact these judgements. That is, those adults who viewed biracial identity as more fluid evaluated a target who switched their identity more positively."
Cheers, Liz!
