Michelle Kim joins California Alliance for Minority Participation summer research program
Michelle participated in UC Santa Barbara's California Alliance for Minority Participation (CAMP) Program. The CAMP Program is funded by the National Science Foundation, and provides students under-represented in STEM with intensive research training during the summer term.
"Being an intern this summer with the CAMP program was a really rewarding experience. I worked with Shreya Sodhi on a study exploring the effects of immigrants on children’s perception of dual national identity. My main responsibilities were stimuli development, recruitment, data collection, and data analysis. CAMP also allowed me to explore other opportunities in research by attending weekly workshops, and listening to professors talking about their own research from a wide variety of different departments. It was so exciting to meet so many other undergraduate students pursuing research in different fields."
